Although Gwen has been featured in multiple Into the Spider-Verse trailers, a new image shared by Agents of Fandom on Twitter teases a specific scene in the upcoming sequel. The image shows Gwen taking off her superhero suit and seemingly meeting Miles' parents for the first time. What Could Be Next For Gwen In Across The Spider-Verse
The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse shows Gwen telling Spider-Man 2099 "we're supposed to be good guys", suggesting that the Spider Society she's welcomed into may be starting to take a dark path. It's unclear what exactly Gwen was referring to with this phrase, but it's likely teasing whether a rift will form between her and Spider-Man 2099 over differences in crime-fighting philosophies. With Spot already being teased as a terrifying villain, Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Gwen may have very different ideas on how to stop he.
While the context of the latest image is unclear, it's clear that Gwen and Miles will open up to each other on a deeper level in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Miles and Gwen have remained friends thus far, but it's certainly possible for an upcoming sequel to explore whether there is any romantic connection between the two young heroes.
