Impressive new MCU fan art reimagines Iron Man's noble sacrifice at the end of Avengers: Endgame into the pages of Marvel comics.

A new piece of Avengers: Endgame fan art reimagines Iron Man's great sacrifice in the form of a retro Marvel comic page. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters in 2019 as the epic finale to the Infinity Saga, after Josh Brolin's Thanos made a shocking comeback in Avengers: Infinity War After victory, the superheroes teamed up to defeat Thanos. The film was well-received by audiences and critics alike, with particular praise for how the film bid farewell to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and Chris Evans' Captain America, the former of whom sacrificed his life to destroy the Infinity Gauntlet. And beat Thanos.

Four years later, Iron Man's death in Avengers: Endgame remains one of the MCU's most iconic moments, now completely recreated in a new fan art by Ian Wilkins (@spikeytortoisecomics) on Instagram This moment was conceived. This creative artwork depicts Tony's sacrifice in the form of a retro Marvel comic page, complete with classic-style clothing and Downey Jr.'s "I am Iron Man" line from the film. Check out the impressive fan art below: ^Iron Man may be gone, but his legacy lives on in the microcontroller. For more than a decade, Downey Jr.'s Tony was basically the franchise's core superhero, and now he's the inspiration for a new generation of heroes. Tom Holland's Spider-Man was initially "discovered" by Tony, and the two eventually established a father-son relationship. "Spider-Man: Far From Home" in particular explored what Tony's death meant to Holland's Peter Parker, but Iron Man's legacy is even shown in Spider-Man's suit tech form in "Spider-Man: Homeless" exist.

How Iron Man's Legacy Lives On In The MCU

More notably, with the introduction of Dominic Thorne's Rarity Williams (aka Iron Heart), Iron Man will continue to exist. Ironheart made her MCU debut as a minor character in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," but she'll play a major role in the future. Williams is said to be one of the smartest characters in the MCU, and like Tony, she'll continue to be explored in greater depth in the upcoming Ironheart Disney+ show. While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever doesn't fully explore Iron Man's influence on Williams, the show will likely create a stronger bond between the two, even if they never officially met.

With Avengers: Secret Wars shaping up to be a potentially cameo-filled experience unlike anything seen in the MCU so far, many fans have speculated that Downey Jr. could reprise his role as Iron Man . While he's undoubtedly still the fan-favorite MCU character, Stark is at this point best suited as an inspiration for a new generation of heroes. Avengers: Endgame may represent the end of an era for the MCU, but Iron Man's final sacrifice continues to reverberate throughout the franchise, and it's not likely to go away anytime soon.
