What To Expect From James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy series is one of the most watched series Beloved throughout the MCU, Gunn's exploration of the concept of a found family mixes the perfect balance of humor and scare for a unique franchise. The Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special could be considered a quiet prologue, as the recent release on Disney+ gave viewers one last feel-good adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy before the team embarked on what was supposed to be their final outing. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Rumors point to at least one Guardian member not surviving to the end of the movie.

While there is no official word on the matter, and there shouldn't be, as Marvel Studios wants to keep the movie's plot twists under wraps ahead of release, two characters have been at the forefront of fan theories about major deaths : Rocket and Drax. Gunn has been talking for years about how the rocket will be the central point of the movie, and the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer teases this by showing a first look at the young Rocket; it has already been confirmed that the movie will explore his origins. The rocket was experimented by the villain High Evolver (Chukwudi Iwuji) in the movie, when he was young. Rocket's past and present could collide as the character faces off against his greatest enemy and dies, providing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Climate moment.

Drax's case is a different story, as it more directly involves actor Dave Bautista publicly announcing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last time he plays the role. Following Bautista's latest film, The Glass Onion: Mystery of Wilderness Action, the actor confirmed he's moving on from the MCU. With Gunn and Bautista gone, if the Guardians remain in the MCU, this will be a new iteration of the team, possibly including Will Poulter's Adam Warlock, who will make his first appearance in the MCU during Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
