Ginny and Georgia Season 2 Finale Explained

The Ginny & Georgia season 2 finale had plenty of twists to keep viewers on their toes. Here's the Ginny & Georgia season 2 ending explained.

Warning! Contains spoilers for Ginny & Georgia season 2

^ Nothing is quite what it seems with Ginny and Georgia, especially at the end of season 2. Netflix's Ginny & Georgia follows the titular mother and daughter as they struggle to fit in Wellsbury while hiding some huge secrets from their past. Heading into the end of season 2, signs seemed to point to Miller moving again after a feud with Jill and Georgia's troubled relationship with Paul, but that wasn't the case. Ginny and Georgia season 2 had plenty of surprises, but the Netflix show managed to keep some twists in place to shock viewers.

Ginny & Georgia season 2 continued the old plotline, but it opened up just as many new stories. From the aftermath of Ginny and Marcus' breakup to Georgia and Paul's surprise wedding, there were plenty of exciting twists and turns during the Ginny and Georgia season 2 finale. Here's a detailed explanation of the Ginny & Georgia season 2 finale, including all the questions the show didn't answer in the finale.

At the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Georgia and Paul's wedding was covered by Georgia's A surprise arrest for the murder of Cynthia's husband, Tom Fuller. Even though Tom died earlier in season 2, there didn't appear to be any murder suspicions (except for Gabriel Cordova, who was out for Georgia), so Georgia's arrest came as a shock to everyone present. While Georgia's future hangs in the balance at the end of the Netflix show's season 2 finale, the answer to Tom's death lies in this past episode.

Breaking Down Georgia's Arrest & Tom's Murder

In the penultimate episode of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Georgia's conversation with Cynthia Fuller influences her decision to kill Tom. Cynthia opens up about the toll Tom's illness has taken on her and how she fears it will affect her son's view of his father. Georgia sympathizes with Cynthia because despite her own relationship with Gil, she is also very careful to make sure that Austin has a good image with his father, which is why she killed Tom. This makes Tom's murder different for Georgia because he kills out of pity and compassion rather than self-preservation or anger.

Georgia's natural inclination after Gill was Leaving town again to start a new life, Ginny and Georgia's title character are brought together when her daughter convinces her to admit what happened to Paul. This leads Georgia to tell Paul the truth about all the lies she's ever told (minus the murder, of course). Paul understandably didn't react well, but at the end of the season 2 finale, the characters Ginny and Georgia finally tied the knot. Even though Paul is a kind, empathetic man, it's hard to understand why he still wants to marry her after he lied to him in Georgia since the moment they met.

Why Paul Still Married Georgia Despite Her Lies

Although Paul admits that he was not wise to marry Georgia for a number of reasons, he ends up marrying her because he knows he loves her too much to stay away from her. It's reminiscent of Paul proposing to Georgia in Ginny & Georgia season 1, telling her they were "cut from the same cloth." After their reconciliation, Georgia affirmed the sentiment and said they were a team. Despite their rocky start, Paul and Georgia got married because they gave each other a chance at life and love They didn't know it was possible before, and now they'd do anything to keep each other in their lives.

Ginny and Austin Miller spent their entire lives in Georgia's care, but now that Georgia is under arrest, what happens to Ginny and Austin? Thanks to Paul, Jill is now completely gone, and Ginny and Austin are sure to be together, although it's not clear who will take care of them while Georgia is away. One option is for the children to stay with Paul. While he's not their biological parent, he did marry Georgia before she was arrested and already lives in their house, which will maintain some familiarity for the kids while Georgia is away.

What Happens To Ginny & Austin Now

Another, more likely option is that Ginny and Austin will stay in Zion. Since Zion is Ginny's biological father, it makes the most sense for her to stay by his side. Although Zion is not Austin's biological father, he is equally familiar with the two children and even took care of them when Ginny and Georgia ran away from home at the end of the first season. Taking care of Miller's two children makes him a possible replacement for Georgia in her absence.

Towards the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Ginny and Marcus break up. Both Ginny and Georgia's characters have been through a lot in season 2 and are clearly struggling with their mental health. Their eventual breakup reflected their personal issues rather than a lack of love for each other. This is evident from the fact that Marcus still showed up at Georgia and Paul's wedding. However, the question remains: Will former lovers rekindle their romance in the Netflix show?

Will Ginny & Marcus Get Back Together?

It is difficult to determine whether Marcus and Ginny will get back together in a future season of Ginny and Georgia. While the two clearly still love each other and are committed to remaining friends, both have massive inner demons that they need to battle with each other before they can even consider another relationship. Although Marcus and Ginny's relationship has overcome difficulties in the past, the season 2 finale left the future of their relationship intentionally ambiguous, hopefully this will be explored in more depth in the future season.

Season finales are usually meant to tie everything in the season together, but Ginny and Georgia's season 2 finale left more questions than answers. Most of the questions relate to Georgia's arrest. The biggest question left over from season 2 of the Netflix show is the question of what happens to Georgia and how her crimes are discovered, since no one but Austin (unintentionally) witnesses them. Another big question related to Georgia's arrest is how it will affect her family and what will happen to her children. They've had a tough time since Jill's incident, and their mother's arrest made it even worse.

Leftover Questions After Ginny & Georgia Season 2's Ending

In addition to Georgia's arrest (the biggest issue at the end of Ginny and Georgia season 2), the Netflix show left viewers with several questions. The second big question for Ginny and Georgia season 3 is whether Ginny and Marcus will rekindle their romance, or if they'll find a new love interest. There are other threats that the Miller family needs to consider, such as whether Jill will return despite the restraining order, or what Gabriel might tell Nick. All the hangovers from the end of season 2 of Ginny & Georgia lead to a juicy setup for season 3, but time will tell if the Netflix show will be renewed.
